 YES POSSIBLY NO

If you spend virtually all your life riding round the cities or the crowded parts of the UK, and wish you could find some great roads for riding, then this is an opportunity to escape to Wales for some great motorcycling.

At the same time we include the content of our 'Bends' and 'Double Bends' courses on perfect roads for you to practice the skills you learn over the course to the full.

The emphasis on this course is enjoying the roads as much as the training, and our carefully planned route to mid-Wales starts near Oxford (just over an hour from central London) over brunch, then follows a selection of excellent twisty B roads through the Cotwolds and the hills of Worcestershire and Shropshire, stopping for afternoon tea in Tenbury Wells, before arriving in the early evening in Montgomery in the Welsh borders.

Accommodation is in a comfortable, mid-priced hotel, with good food and wine on offer, as well as some excellent real ale for the beer drinkers, with the evenings set aside for plenty of informal post-riding chat.

After breakfast next morning, the two day course then heads down towards Llanbister and Presteigne before returning to England and more great roads back to Oxford in the early evening for a final debrief.

Over the course of the two days, you'll discover how to plan your lines round bends, how to position the bike for best advantage whilst not neglecting safety, how to read corners so you're not surprised plus the all-important machine control issues. You'll be covering around 250 miles in total.

Here's Steve Kelly's write-up of a similar course I ran in 2000 for him and Tim Buxton.

If you opt for the extra day, then Day Two heads up and over the Cambrian mountains and back via some narrow mountain roads (weather permitting) and then we ride back to Oxford on the Day Three with around 400 miles being covered over the three days. The extra day's training content will cover the same material as my Double Bends day with emphasis on techniques like trail braking into corners and how changes in body position influence the machine's handling.

Duration

Price per COURSE

2 Day

£495

3 Day

£695

These courses are priced PER COURSE and can be run for 1 to 3 people, so bring two friends and the two day trip could cost you as little as £82.50 PER DAY and the three day trip as little as £80.55 PER DAY!*

    IMPORTANT:
Please note this will be a mid-week course to avoid peak tourist bookings and weekend traffic. As the emphasis on this course is enjoying the roads as much as the training, the the training element will normally cover my normal "Bends" one day course.

*Prices do not include accommodation, which will be confirmed at the time of booking. You are responsible for booking and paying for your own accommodation. Accommodation prices could change if you do not book with the hotel promptly.
